Dal 18 al 21 settembre 2014 il Verona Dx Team ha organizzato una dxpedition presso il faro di
Porer (Pula) - Croazia. Latitude 44° 45' 28.6" N longitude 13° 53' 28.1" E . Locatore: JN64WS con il
nominativo: 9A/IQ3VO.
Gli operatori: I3VJW, IK3JBP, IK3SCB, I3JRF, IW3ICK, IZ3JKI, IW3ILP, IU3BXI.
Siamo stati attivi con due stazioni su tutte le bande HF esclusi i 160mt e nei seguenti modi :
CW,SSB,RTTY,JT65A,PSK31.
Inoltre, siamo stati particolarmente attivi con una stazione per la banda dei 6mt nei seguenti modi:
CW,SSB,MS, JT65A e EME. In particolare, per le operazioni EME e MS, tramite la chat di ON4KST,
eravamo disponibili per eventuali skeds.

Storia e curiosità
Il faro di Porer è stato costruito nel 1833 sull’omonimo isolotto, 2,5 km a sudovest dal promontorio
meridionale dell’Istria e dal paese di Premantura. Il faro è alto 35 metri e si trova proprio al centro
dell’edificio di pietra a pianterreno, con un cortile in cemento.
L’isolotto è uno scoglio di larghezza di 80 m, con tre approdi piuttosto piccoli. Basta un po’ più di un
minuto per attraversare l’intero isolotto. Qui i tramonti sono considerati tra i più belli sull’Adriatico.
Come mai i costruttori di Porer sono riusciti a costruire questo faro, visto che il mare circostante ha una
natura cosi volubile?
La leggenda di Porer è sepolta nelle dune di sabbia che nascondono numerosi resti dell’Antichità. Nei
dintorni ci sono i banchi di Kršin, Fenoliga e Veliki Balkun che rappresentano dei veri e propri cimiteri di
numerose imbarcazioni che furono vittime delle tempeste intorno a Porer. Inoltre, l’isolotto di Fenoliga è
particolare per un fatto davvero singolare: le orme di un dinosauro che veramente vale la pena vedere.

From 18 to 21 September, 2014, the Verona DX Team organized a DXpedition to the Porer
lighthouse (Pula) - Croatia. Latitude 44 ° 45 '28.6 "N longitude 13 ° 53' 28.1". Locator: JN64WS, with

Istria's southernmost cape and the village of Premantura. The lighthouse is 35 meters high and is
located right in the center of the building.
The islet is a rock of a width of 80 m, with three piers rather small. Just a little more than a minute to go
through the whole island. The sunsets here are considered to be among the most beautiful on the
Adriatic Sea.
How did the builders of Porer have succeeded in building the lighthouse, as the surrounding sea has a
nature so fickle?
The Legend of Porer is buried in the sand dunes that conceal numerous remains of antiquity. Nearby
there are the sandbars of Krsin, Fenoliga and Veliki Balkun that represent real graveyards of many
vessels that were victims of the storms around Porer. In addition, the islet of Fenoliga is particular for a
very singular fact: there are the footprints of a dinosaur that really are worth seeing.
